Get a Stand by merging with a Corpse Part or using an Arrow Shard while Standless. Arrow Shards guarantee an eligible Stand, while Corpse Parts require you to keep possession during the merging process. Some Stands have separate requirements, so an ordinary Arrow Shard cannot replace every special unlock route.
This guide follows the active official Trello cards reviewed on October 15, 2026. Use it to choose an acquisition method and understand documented restrictions before spending an item. The recommendations are planning advice based on those cards, rather than a live gameplay test or a ranking of the strongest Stands.
01
Choose between Arrow Shards and Corpse Parts
An Arrow Shard is the straightforward option if you already own one and want an eligible Stand. The Arrow Shards card says it grants a Stand regardless of rarity, with exceptions for unobtainable Stands and those with specific acquisition methods. That guarantee concerns receiving a Stand, rather than receiving the particular one you want.
Corpse Parts create a different problem: find the spawn, reach it, and keep possession while merging. Their arrival is announced across the server, and carrying one periodically highlights you through walls. Choose this route with the expectation that other players can see the opportunity too, rather than treating the pickup as an instant reward.
For a first Stand, decide which of those requirements you can currently meet. If you have no shard, the Arrow Shard guide explains documented sources, while the Corpse Parts guide explains the spawn and merge process. If ordinary travel and equipment are still unfamiliar, start with the beginner route.
02
Keep an Arrow Shard until you are ready
The current card lists Arrow Shards in fishing's legendary pool, bounty chest loot, robbery loot, and the Moe Wolff boss chest pool. Membership in a reward pool does not mean every successful activity produces a shard. In particular, a fishing legendary-pool rate does not establish a separately measured chance for the Arrow Shard itself.
Arrow Shards can be banked and are not lost upon death or leaving, according to their active card. They cannot be dropped, and they cannot be used while you already possess a Stand. Check your current Stand status before planning to consume one, rather than assuming possession of the item makes every use valid.
Bank storage has a separate reset boundary. The Banker card says banked items are not retained after a character wipe, so banking a shard does not protect it from that action. Keep normal death, leaving a server, and wiping a character separate when deciding what the storage wording actually promises.
03
Recognize a Corpse Part and finish merging
Corpse Parts can spawn when a server has at least three players, with the documented spawn chance increasing as player count rises. A loud sound, yellow beam, and sphere of light mark a spawn; the beam disappears after 30 seconds. The server also announces the states Spawn, Taken, Lost, and Merged.
Picking up the part begins a process rather than finishing it. The Corpse Parts card describes periodic yellow highlights and merging pulses while you hold it. Being knocked, or having the body part containing it broken or dismembered, can knock it out of you.
Read the latest announcement before continuing toward an old beam location. A Taken message means the situation has changed, and a Merged message means that particular part has completed its use. The current card also says nearby dynamite or Molotov fires are extinguished by a Corpse Part, but that specific interaction does not establish general protection from attacks.
04
Check special routes before chasing one Stand
Tusk is a documented exception to general acquisition. The Stand information card says it is only obtainable through a chance when fusing with a Saint's Left Arm. If Tusk is your target, accumulating ordinary Arrow Shards is therefore not a substitute for locating the required part.
D4C has a preparation step at the Sandtown pit. The card lists sacrifices of five Dogbanes, three Rokas, or one Arrow Shard together with one Roka or Dogbane. It says the next Corpse Part to spawn afterward will be a Saint's Heart, so the sacrifice prepares the next spawn rather than directly granting D4C.
The D4C route lists being Standless and having at least 125 career kills as requirements to begin merging with the Heart. It separately requires a current killstreak of 15 for the D4C acquisition chance. The card says an unsuccessful outcome or unmet requirements can produce another Rare or Default Stand, so the Heart should not be described as a guaranteed D4C item.
C-MOON starts with Whitesnake and has its own quest card. Requirements include Inlaw or the specified neutral reputation state, completion of Pucci's quest, and possession of his Disc. The neutral wording is specifically an Outlaw with zero bounty, rather than a general exemption from the other prerequisites.
The quest asks for one each of a Vampire Fang, Rokakaka, Meteor Shard, Bison Hide, Crocodile Hide, Bison Horn, and Arrow Shard. Pucci gives Dio's Bone, which must be buried on stable ground in the Greenlands or Forests before three unique player kills within 250 studs of it. The resulting Green Baby requires correctly selecting the 14 phrases; mistakes reset that progress, and the card warns that nearby characters can shrink and die. Completing the phrases lets you merge the Green Baby with Whitesnake to obtain C-MOON.
05
Understand rarity and combat tradeoffs
The Stand information card uses the categories Default and Rare. Its Rare examples include The World, King Crimson, Star Platinum, Weather Report, Gold Experience, and Whitesnake, among others. A rarity category describes the acquisition grouping; it does not establish an objective order of combat strength or suitability for your loadout.
The same card documents reduced base gun damage for Stand users: 15% for Humanoid Stands and 5% for Non-Humanoid Stands. It also warns that some guns may be unaffected, so those percentages should not become a universal damage calculator. Consult the weapons guide when your gun setup matters to the decision.
Stands with Speed rated B or above can deflect bullets while barraging, according to the general card. Humanoid Stands can block with F, and Tusk and The Fool are specifically named as additional blocking exceptions. Check the controls guide for context before treating one key as the same action in every equipment state.
Piloting a Stand leaves both the Stand and your main body vulnerable to being shot. Time-stop Stands also have documented damage restrictions during time stops, so an ability's theme alone does not tell you its practical limits. After acquiring a Stand, learn its own documented moves and conditions before spending more resources to chase a different rarity.
