Get Bridger Western Cards by visiting the Mud Witch in the Swamp and paying 150 Moola for a fortune reading. You choose one of three Cards and place it in the slot you want, with a documented maximum of three equipped Cards. Read each effect and any drawback before selecting, because a useful bonus depends on the equipment and actions you actually use.

This guide follows the official Cards, Mud Witch, and individual passive cards reviewed on October 15, 2026. The examples explain documented effects rather than a tested ranking or guaranteed fortune result. They give you a way to compare offers without assuming every Card suits every character.

01

Find the Mud Witch and choose fortune reading

The Cards overview places the acquisition interaction at the Mud Witch in the Swamp. The Mud Witches Hut card confirms that she reads fortunes to obtain Cards. Use the map guide to organize the trip around that destination.

Fortune reading and offering a Dogbane Herb are separate interactions. For an ordinary Card selection, choose the fortune service and check the cost before continuing. Dogbane leads to other progression choices, including resets, which are explained later in this guide.

Cards are described as mostly passive abilities and buffs. That wording is useful when learning the system because it does not require every Card to be a new attack button. Read the individual effect instead of assuming a Card grants the same type of benefit as a Stand or weapon.

02

Budget for the reading and extra reveals

The base fortune reading costs 150 Moola and gives you a choice of one out of three Cards. The overview says the first flip is free, with 50 Moola charged to flip the other Cards. Keep the base service price separate from the amount you are willing to spend revealing additional choices.

If you pay for two additional flips, those add 100 Moola to the 150-Moola reading, for a total of 250 Moola. That arithmetic describes the published fees, not an extra reward tier or a guarantee that a preferred Card will appear. Check the dialogue before spending when the remaining choice is less valuable to you than the money.

The source does not provide a complete probability table for individual fortune results. It also does not establish a special payment that forces a named Card to appear. Use the money guide to plan the expense alongside the equipment you still need.

03

Choose a slot around your current setup

The overview lists three Cards as the current maximum and lets you place your selection in any slot you want. Review your existing slots before confirming the new placement. A deliberate slot choice is easier to evaluate than changing several parts of your setup without remembering the previous effects.

Start with one question about your character: which action do you use often enough for a passive to matter? A revolver user, a bow user, and someone fighting mainly on horseback have different answers. Compare the offered effects with that answer before chasing a Card that sounds impressive in isolation.

Look for conditions and costs in the whole description. A bonus tied to horseback only helps while its mounted condition applies, while a melee bonus can come with a firearm drawback. The five examples below show how to read those differences without turning them into an unsupported universal tier list.

04

Consider Veteran when using a revolver

Veteran changes what happens to the remaining bullets in a revolver's chamber when you reload. Its card says reloading no longer unloads those remaining rounds. This addresses ammunition handling rather than directly promising higher damage or a faster reload.

Check whether a revolver is central to your current equipment before valuing the effect. If you rarely use one, the reason to select Veteran becomes weaker even though the passive has a clear purpose. The weapons guide explains the general wasteful-reload rule and current revolver controls.

05

Match Archer's Child to actual bow use

Archer's Child lists 1.5 times bow draw speed and twice the bow fire rate. Those are specific bow effects, so keep that weapon requirement attached to the numbers. The card does not describe a general speed bonus for all ranged weapons.

This makes it an offer to examine when your plan already includes using a bow. It is less directly relevant to a character whose normal routine uses only guns or another combat path. Decide whether the weapon fits your plan before choosing a passive around it.

06

Read A True Cowboy as a mounted option

A True Cowboy documents an aimed lasso while on horseback and 17% more gun damage on horseback. The mounted condition is central to both effects. Selecting the Card does not establish that the gun bonus also applies when fighting on foot.

Consider how often your encounters actually happen while riding. If mounted combat is the activity you want to develop, the Card's condition matches that goal. Review the horses guide and practice the current riding inputs so the equipment plan and passive choice support the same activity.

07

Compare Boys With Fists and Wind God through their costs

Boys With Fists gives 20% more melee damage while reducing gun accuracy by 35%. Its description includes gun bashes, slides, and dagger or sabre slashes among the affected actions. The source also mentions a further standless increase, but its approximate wording does not justify one exact damage result for every character.

That tradeoff matters if you use both melee and firearms. Ask whether the improved melee actions support your normal approach enough to accept the accuracy cost. A positive damage figure by itself does not answer the full equipment question.

Wind God reduces dash or slide cooldown in exchange for 10 maximum HP. The card does not specify an exact cooldown reduction, so the health cost is more precisely documented than the amount of extra mobility. Choose with both sides visible rather than supplying a made-up percentage for the movement benefit.

08

Keep Dogbane choices separate from Card selection

The Mud Witch accepts a Dogbane Herb for a different menu of actions. Her documented options include wiping an existing Stand, reducing age by 20 years, receiving 2,500 Moola, and wiping a specialty. The Stand-wipe option appears only when you already have a Stand.

The specialty wipe also clears experience, tier, and mastery, according to the hut card. Read the Spin guide before treating that option as a small equipment adjustment. For a Stand decision, review the Stand guide and the method you intend to use afterward.

These Dogbane options do not document a general free Card reset or a guarantee of a new fortune selection. If your goal is changing Cards, use the actual fortune and slot interaction rather than assuming a path wipe is required. Confirm the action named in the dialogue before accepting consequences unrelated to the passive you wanted to change.

09

Review the result before spending again

After selecting a Card, note its name, condition, and drawback alongside your current equipment. Judge the choice through the actions you use rather than a ranking with no stated build assumptions. If you want another reading, decide what problem the next selection should solve before returning to the paid interaction.

The official Trello and Discord guide provides the current documentation destinations. Recheck an individual Card when its description or your equipment plan changes. A focused selection process lets three limited slots support a clear play style without requiring an exhaustive catalog first.
